Please Help Me

Lol, alright so I don't think I've ever been this upset about a game in my life. I am having the same issue in multiple games. And if I weren't so persistant I think I would honestly give up gaming altogether, it's that bad.

Here's the problem:
Playing on a PS3, Wired (12 feet CAT 6) ethernet to a WRT310N Linksys Gigabit Router. Have the beastly Motorola Docsis 3.0 eXtreme Cable Modem. The PS3 is in DMZ, and UPnP is Disabled as to not interfere. Also the other filters, the SPI firewall and all other potentially problematic issues are addressed. Charter Internet with 25mbs/Download and 3mbs/Upload.

Okay, regardless of which game I am playing, Armored Core For Answer, Uncharted 2, Modern Warfare 2 (My recent playlists) I run into the same issue in online multiplayer. In Modern Warfare 2 for example, my screen shows me shooting an enemy; injuring (blood spurts) them and the crosshair "ticks" too. However, they (everyone, not the same people) turn around and kill me instead with (INSTANT) bullet registration and I die. On my screen I unloaded half-3/4 of a clip into them (weapon/perks don't matter, same result). I check the killcam and on "their" screen it shows me shooting 1-2 bullets, then they turn around and kill me.

*It's not just MW2, its also other games.

I don't understand why this is happening, I check the pings, even when I'm HOST, it still happens alot, probably 25-50% of every death.

I have addressed everything I could google. There is physically nothing more that I can do on my end. My network runs great, I've ran port tests, speedtests, pingtests. My results "20ms ping to server 50 miles away. With 2ms jitter, and 0% packet loss"

The only thing I can possibly think of, which is far fetched but just maybe! My Download speed is 8x more than my upload. Is it possible that I am simply "Downloading" enemy locations/actions faster than I am "Uploading" my own? It's the only freaking thing left, that I can think of?

Aside from that, maybe my TV is refreshing too slow? I've even tested that, its at 8-10ms. It's also properly calibrated. With a 3foot HDMI cord. I play in 720p. Could it be that many people are playing in 1080p and there is some performance advantage?

It just "Feels" like they have more frame per second than I do or some advantage somehow.

Wireless Switch?

Okay this one is geared toward you techies:

For those of you that game on a regular hardcore basis, I'm sure you've become aware by now that Routers = Bad gaming experience.

It doesn't even seem to really matter which brand, model, type, firmware, etc. There always seems to be something wrong or glitchy in ever router I have owned. Even when Properly updated, and configured my routers have simply "Removed" or "Hidden" servers from my game browsers, they add very small amounts of Jitter (although small, it means the difference between life/death in games like Call of Duty.) and they cause hosting/joining issues if you dont have ports forwarded or DMZ enabled.

So here's my question. Is it possible to create a network that consists of a Wireless Switch?
Why? Because a Switch is a router, without the firewall and all the other garbage that causes inconsistancies in your gaming. The downside to a switch? They are all Hard-Wired. I.E. No wireless.

My house has 1 Laptop and 1 PS3.
The PS3 is Wired
The Laptop is Wireless

Now I figure the best way to do this, is to buy a Switch, and a small Ethernet Access Point.

Wall > Cable Modem > Switch
Then the PS3 would be wired into Ethernet 1 on the Switch
I would connect the Wireless Access Point to Ethernet 2 on the switch

Now I would have a Wireless Laptop, and a Wired PS3 without ANY blocked ports, no need for DMZ, UPnP, or Port Forwarding!
Does that work?

OR

I could purchase an extra IP Address from the cable company. But how does that work? Say that I buy one today. Now I have 2 IP's.
Do I need another cable modem? and now my Laptop and my PS3 each get their own modem? If so, do they now get their own connection as well, so if my internet plan is like 5mb/5mb (example) do they still Share that, or do they each get 5/5 since they are on their own modems?

PS3 = Teh Suck

So I figured the title would get all of you Xbox and PS fanboys clicking.

First, hello everyone, it's been a year since my last post lol.

Quick intro to bring you up to speed:
Moved to Oregon State, from Washington... and let me tell you, the beaches are nice, but the entire population is on welfare... I can't find a fucking job anywhere. I've been here for 2 months, I have a bachelor's degree, office type work experience, and about the only type of openings that are down here are for minimum wage. But I guess that's the economy too, eh?

Next, I had to sell my computer before we moved. I'm going to build a new one, but I need a job first. However I do have a PS3. And I this brings me to my next, and most important topic: OMG, Console gaming BLOWS! I started out on consoles, NES, SNES, Genesis, PS1, N64, etc. Then I moved into PC Gaming, and slowly upgraded to bigger computers over the years. Now that I have no job or PC, I have been spending a lot of time on the PS3. I have acquired about 15 or so games.

It will NEVER compare to PC gaming. I have been trying to be fair though. I have given it a chance and I have been trying to obtain 100% completion/trophies on ALL of my games. I told myself, if I get 100% on everything, then I can sell it and trade it all in for a new PC lol.

The more popular ones that I own are Uncharted 2, Resident Evil 5, and of course Modern Warfare 2......

Okay: Modern Warfare 2. Now the rant begins. Remember how Glock left at the start of COD4? because it was too "random" and just wasn't the "same?" well that's how I feel about MW2. I'm not sure if it's because I'm a PC gamer that is being forced to use a fucking joystick controller on a piece of shit 30-40 frames per second game, or because the game just sucks, or a combination of the two, but omg, I've never ever, ever, had to work so hard in my gaming life, to reach 3rd place in a game.

I use to be a "pub star" as Snowball liked to call it. Put me in a random game of COD4 with any perk/weapon combo you want, and I guarantee I will be 1st. Put me into a ProMod or PAM however.... and I will be dead last.

It's driving me crazy! It doesn't matter what techniques or weapons or attachments I use in MW2, by the end of the game I want to chuck the god damn remote at the television. I can't even play with my bluetooth on, because I unintentionally cuss throughout the entire game. Console aiming is terrible. Not only is it bad enough that your using a joystick instead of a mouse which is an extension of your arm, but regardless of your settings you always have "Sticky Aim" enabled. Which means when you are trying to "fine tune" your aim and going for a headshot or something, the game sticks your crosshair to their body and slows down your aim speed automatically. So it becomes IMPOSSIBLE to aim with any sort of fluid, rapid, or precision movement.

Also, they killed perks for me. I don't like having 6 perks. They are attached together in such dumb ways that I can never get the proper combination. Let me give some examples.

Stopping Power Pro: Increased damage versus people / Increased damage versus air support

What? Okay, in COD4 yeah, but in MW2 the fucking air support has so much hitpoints you CANT bring one down with stopping power pro and an RPD equipped, try emptying 2 full mags into a harrier, that piece of shit is barely going to start smoking.

So the second part is absolutely useless. Which means if you use stopping power pro, you're now limited to 5/6 perks because one of yours doesnt work. Combine that with steady aim pro, and now you only have 4/6 perks equipped. Add Scavenger, and now you only have 3/6 total perks equipped.

Also, commando is ridiculously overpowered, especially on consoles. Imagine being able to run circles around people because they are all using joystick instead of mouse/keyboard. Now imagine doing that with commando. That = PS3 MW2

Sniper Rifles are useless on Console. Maps have too many buildings ffs. You can't swing a dick without hitting the doorway to another fucking building. Which would be great for me, because I wall spam. Hahah, or USE to rather. MW2 = almost NO bullet penetration. Why? Because every single game mode except 2 are Normal (non-hardcore). All I use to play was Hardcore.

Anyway the list goes on. Sorry to waste your time reading this, but I had to vent somewhere. In case you skipped over the entire thing, here's the summary:

PS3 + MW2 + (No Hardcore Mode) + (Laggy Hosts with Improper Router settings) = Extremely pissed off PC Gamer.

This is no joke, but I only have 3 games left that I need trophies for. And once I get those, I am selling all of my PS3 games and the console, and buying a PC.

Consoles can't compare in any way shape or form. People always say, "what about couch co-op" you can't do that on a PC... well, actually, for the same price it takes for you to buy the Console, extra controller, bigger hard drive, HDMI cord, HDTV, Live subscription, and other add-ons, I can build a cheap but efficient gaming PC that will not only display much better resolutions and graphics than a console, but can be easily added to a wired or wireless lan for even better Couch-Co op.

In my opinion, after spending a ridiculous amount of time on a PC and PS3 now. The ONLY thing a console has over PC, is its anti-hack abilities. I have yet to come across a single hacker in ANY of my games on PS3.
